震教徒（Shakers）是18世紀由貴格會（Quakers）分支發展而來的基督教教派，以簡樸的生活方式和實用主義聞名，他們的家具設計作品，如：夏克式搖椅（Shaker Rocking Chair），以乾淨的線條、簡潔的外形和精細的工藝為特徵，實踐震教徒對實用性、耐用性與簡樸的追求。  

震教徒的作品對現代家具影響深遠，特別是在強調功能與美學統一的理念上。許多現代主義思潮及設計師，尤其是20世紀的北歐風格和包浩斯學派（the Bauhaus School），從其家具設計中汲取靈感，進一步推動了簡約與功能主義的潮流。
