Description

This two-piece poster set, published by the Oda Collection Support Committee in Japan, features a curated selection of iconic designs by Danish master Finn Juhl .
Researched and supervised by acclaimed Japanese design collector Noritsugu Oda, the posters present meticulously drawn line illustrations of Finn Juhl ’s most representative works. Each piece highlights the structural clarity and refined proportions that define Finn Juhl's design language. Supplemented with basic design information, the posters combine visual elegance with archival value—an essential reference and display set for any admirer of Scandinavian design.

---About the Oda Collection---
Professor Noritsugu Oda is one of the most prominent collectors and scholars of furniture and everyday design in the contemporary world. For over half a century, he has been devoted to the collection, study, and promotion of Scandinavian design. His work has been widely recognized both in Japan and internationally.

His extensive collection includes:
*Over 1,350 classic chairs
*Approximately 80 tables and 50 cabinets
*A wide variety of lighting, ceramics, glassware, and design posters
*And more than 20,000 volumes of books and reference materials

These valuable holdings have supported numerous thematic, well-organized exhibitions. Among the most notable are:

“1000 Chairs Exhibition” (2002, Tokai University, Hokkaido)
“Living Gracefully and Beautifully: Scandinavian Design Exhibition” (2023, Takashimaya)
“Poul Kjærholm: The Eternal Minimalist” (2024, Panasonic Shiodome Museum of Art, Tokyo)

Professor Oda’s passion for design stems from a lifelong dedication. Even during times of limited financial means, he invested all of his income from graphic design and illustration into his collection, often purchasing pieces through installments.
In 1979, he co-founded the CHAIRS? Research Laboratory with Professor Keiko Seno of Kyoto City University of Arts. Since 1982, he has made repeated research visits to Denmark, meeting with legendary designers such as Finn Juhl and Hans J. Wegner, recording interviews, and collecting materials at a time when the Danish furniture industry was in decline. His efforts helped preserve an extraordinary body of work and documentation.

Today, Professor Oda resides in Hokkaido and has donated his entire collection to the town of Higashikawa. A design museum is now planned for the site, intended as a long-term base for design preservation and public education.

This Finn Juhl Poster Set (B2) includes two beautifully arranged posters. With their clean presentation and documentary value, they serve as both a visual celebration and scholarly reference—ideal for design research, exhibition support, or interior display.
