Description

1807年義大利西北齊亞瓦里小鎮的工匠Giuseppe Gaetano Descalzi受到了法式椅子的啟發，決心研發一張輕便又多用途的椅子，他以精湛的車床技術，在椅子的構件上車出一輪一輪的突出物，一方面裝飾椅子，另方面也使得纖細的材料，擁有比外表更多的結構力，椅面採用非常細緻的籐編，提供了良好的支撐力，也增添了秀麗的風采，整個作品造型優雅，結構極為精巧，用料穠纖合度。由於用途廣泛又易於貯運，迅速地這張椅子受到世人的歡迎，成為當地的特產，也因此它以齊亞瓦里(Chiavari)命名。

在西方世界許多重要的場合中，常可見到Chiavari椅，不同的色彩代表不同的用途，一般來說婚禮使用的是白色或原木色，國宴或正式晚宴中用的是金色或銀色。
