Description

The AT-312 is a dining table designed by Hans J. Wegner for Andreas Tuck in the 1950s. The model was produced in two sizes, approximately 240 × 90 cm and 280 × 100 cm. This example is the larger version. Despite its impressive proportions, Wegner’s flowing apron and elegantly tapered legs give the table a light and graceful appearance.

The tabletop, apron and legs are all made of teak, creating a warm and harmonious overall tone. The supports for the extension leaves are concealed beneath the tabletop. When extended, a narrow gap appears between the tabletop and the leg frame, giving the broad surface a distinctive floating effect.

Andreas Tuck was founded in Odense, Denmark, in 1902. The company began collaborating with Wegner around 1950 and became particularly known for producing his tables, coffee tables and smaller pieces of furniture, including the AT-33 sewing table, AT-35 round coffee table and AT-305 desk.

In 1951, Andreas Tuck joined Salesco, working alongside Carl Hansen & Søn, Ry Møbler, A.P. Stolen and Getama to jointly market Wegner’s furniture. After 1968, production of several Wegner tables originally made by Andreas Tuck was gradually transferred to PP Møbler.
