Description

This armchair was designed in the 1960s by Danish designer Ib Kofod-Larsen and produced by the furniture workshop Brande Møbelfabrik. Kofod-Larsen was a leading figure of postwar Danish modern design, renowned for combining fluid lines, sculptural form, and exceptional comfort. His work was highly sought after in both Europe and the United States, helping to establish the international prominence of Scandinavian design in the mid-20th century.

The chair features a frame crafted from richly grained rosewood, with a structure that is simple yet sturdy and finished with smooth, refined details. The leather seat provides both soft support and durability, creating a striking contrast with the warmth of the wood. A gently curved backrest, balanced with straight and cylindrical elements, gives the chair an aesthetic that is both minimalist and sculptural.

This piece exemplifies the Danish commitment to honesty of materials, precision craftsmanship, and everyday comfort. As a classic of 1960s Danish furniture, it is not only a functional piece for daily use but also a collectible that represents the enduring spirit of Scandinavian modernism.
