這款PH系列原自於1931年Poul Henningsen 的設計，在1979年時建築師Sophus Frandsen和Ebbe Christensen 為哥本哈根Charlottenborg Palace重新設計了直徑65CM的款式PH6-6 1/2(Charlottenborg)，之後1984年為Aarhus Concert Hall 所設計了這款PH 5/4½吊燈。 
這款燈具原為白色，被後加工為暗紅/金色。
