Description

A teak bird-shaped opener from the 1960s to 1970s, designed for use as both a beer bottle opener and a wine corkscrew. It attributed to a design by Danish designer Arne Basse or Hans Bølling.

The metal fitting forming the bird’s beak is used to open crown caps on beer bottles, soda bottles, and similar bottles. The bird’s body can be lifted from the base, revealing a metal rod with a corkscrew at the end for opening wine bottles. When stored, the corkscrew is concealed inside the bird’s body, while the base also serves as a display stand.
