這件作品的雛型誕生於1933年，距離Mathsson創作第一張彎曲積層膠合木作品Grasshopper大約三年，其型態可說是Grasshopper的精進版，同時也受到當時芬蘭建築師Alvar Aalto的影響。作品推出後頗受好評，進而發展出高背椅、沙發、腳凳等樣式，材質方面也有棉布面、亞麻布編織面、皮面等等。
