Description

UN Chair是Jacob Kjar為了在紐約聯合國的大廈所設計的椅子，目前由日本製造商Kitani生產。
Jacob Kjar (1896-1957)，出生於1896年，1915年他19歲時，在父親的工坊完成家具木匠的訓練，之後又到荷蘭、德國柏林和巴黎，接受進一步的訓練，在他30歲時已被認為是當時非常傑出的家具木匠，並且主張設計者與木匠間應該更緊密的合作。在1928-1957年間參加哥本哈根家具匠師公會展。 
他是丹麥少數集家具木匠和設計師的角色於一身的優秀家具作者，他的設計風格簡潔但有著讓人驚豔的細節，可看見他家具木匠一絲不苟的訓練，不論在材料、結構、製作技術的品質上都表現著一位一流的家具製造者不妥協的堅持。他曾負責主持過數屆哥本哈根家具匠師公會展，也參與許多國際活動展出，包含1929年的巴塞隆納世界博覽會。
