Poul Cadovius在1948年設計了家具系統Royal System，在1958年在Royal System的基礎下設計了這組System Cado，System Cado使用了木材這項單一材料，層板與櫃體以木釘接合，背板上垂直等距分布的斜孔，方便使用者可以任意搭配不同功能的組件，並依需求隨時調整高度。System Cado所採用的木材為柚木、美國胡桃木、巴西玫瑰木以及平光漆面白橡木。

在幾年之間，這2組壁櫃系統的需求量越來越大，尤其是在國際市場上。因此Cadovius分別在瑞典、美國設立了辦公室並且在許多海外國家生產製造。1966年，Cadovius將有名的製造商France & Søn買下來並創立了Cado這品牌。
