Description

Kristian Solmer Vedel是丹麥一位重要的工業設計師，畢業於哥本哈根工藝美術學院家具設計系，1950年成立工作室，並在1953-1956年回母校任教。作品深獲受到Kaare Klint的古典實用風格和德國包浩斯的功能主義影響。

這張Modus大長方桌由Kristian Solmer Vedel設計，以花紋強烈的玫瑰木作為的主要材料，桌面以玫瑰木貼皮夾板構成對稱的美麗紋路，而桌子四邊框架和桌腳以玫瑰木實木製作，在設計上以圓弧的方式修飾了桌子剛硬的線條，同樣有著Modus系列圓弧和方形作為家具設計的符號。這張大長方桌在寬度和高度上都有別於一般餐桌的標準尺寸，適合大空間或連通的居家空間作為陳列，而這次特別選以八張成對的餐椅搭配，整體看來典雅莊重，相得益彰。

Vedel除了家具以外也有許多餐具和木器的設計，家具曾獲1947年獲哥本哈根匠師公會展首獎，也在1957年獲Louisiana Museum Prize，1957年米蘭三年展銀獎,1962年獲得Lunning Prize的殊榮。
