LamPetit於1966 年問世。起初只有黑色，但第二年就推出了橙色和灰色，後來又出現了一款特別的紅色。燈源使用12 伏特的汽車燈泡，因為丹麥是220V的電壓，在台灣需搭配變壓器使用。這盞燈常被認為是Verner Panton的設計，但在1966年Louis Poulsen 出版的雜誌LP & CO Nyt中，揭露是由Louis Poulsen旗下的設計師Bent Gantzel Boysen所設計。
